Disconnection is my worst fear since childhood. Never one to want to miss school, because, hey! They might just do something really cool and I would miss out.

Being abroad and returning (via transatlantic cruise ship with a hefty $$$ per minute for Internet) had its own set of disconnects. Beginning and not ending with the differences in time zones. Do you have any idea how hard it is to wake up at 0400 just so you can chat with your Momma who is winding it down and about to go to bed at 10:00 pm?

There isn’t enough caffeine.

And the converse, almost as difficult…trying to force yourself to stay awake so that you can call before they head out to work?

And of course, there is that “Internet” dependence thing. OMGoodness! If the internet was down, then, no phone home. Frustrations were abundant for sure.

But Today! I am no longer frustrated because my AT & T new Best Friend, Brit, hooked me and Jose back up to the world wide web….and how glorious it is to be reconnected.

You just don’t realize, sometimes, how good it feels to hear that phone ring.
