Coffee talk with Nadine

Yesterday at work I received news I wasn’t planning on receiving. I felt very discouraged and mad at a system I have little control over. The political-ness of it left me heart broken. I tried on my own to solve it. Make sense of it. Even vented a little.

Situation Normal AFU.
And the beat goes on.
I turned to the index of my bible for an answer. Looking up the word discouraged led me to a dead end. So I did a 180 and looked up “courage” instead.

What I found was a very old familiar verse that lifted me out of the ugliness and mucky-ness of the situation.

“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 13:6

I read that a yielded heart does not whine or rebel when the going gets tough. Instead it musters the courage to thank Him even in hard times. In doing so, we exhibit trust. I am thankful for my job. And hopeful I can find another avenue.

Score settled. No need to worry about That anymore.

Be strong. Be of good courage. Do not fear.

All directives I can live with.

Strong, courageous and fearlessly yours,

It’s here! That wonderful time of the year where writers and authors all over the planet take a stab at 50,000 words in 30 days! And I’m pumped to try my hand and my heart at book 3 in a 7 book series.

After officially signing off of social media with the exception of the Daily Mantra or Coffee Talk with Nadine it’s off to the races.

This year will be more daunting than the last two because #1 we are back in country and I have a full time job and #2 my husband will be at home instead of out of town working.

I remain hopeful that 50,000 words will be put to page. Thankful for my trusty word processor I will make giant leaps in the writing and editing departments.

Now to engage my brain.

Novelly yours,

Nadine Bodine
